The Chilean Humboldt Penguins are predominantly found along the rocky coastlines of northern and central Chile. They feed on fish that are abundant in the nutrient rich waters of the Humboldt Current. The Humboldt Penguin is classified as a vulnerable species and conservation efforts are underway to protect the penguin colonies and their coastal habitats. They are an enchanting and vital part of Chile’s coastal biodiversity.
