The resort town of Banff is located within Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. This is Canada’s first National Park and it is a popular destination for skiing, hiking, biking, and camping. The most prominent peaks within the majestic Canadian Rockies are Mt. Rundle and Mt. Cascade.
The Bow river can be appreciated winding through the town of Banff.
The park is home to about 56 mammal species. Grizzly bears, black bears, cougars, coyote, elk, deer, moose, and bighorn sheep are among a few that can be seen. Over 5 million people visit Banff annually and for this reason, park management policies are increasingly emphasizing environmental protection.
